Constellation
A personal app that runs only on its owner's own Mac. It isn't offered to anyone else, and there's no account to create.
What it does
Constellation is a private dashboard for one person's own projects and day: project status, a task board, a calendar and a short morning briefing.
When its owner connects their Google account, Constellation can do three things:
- show a read-only view of their Gmail: counts of unread and important mail, search, and a conversation as plain text;
- show their Google Calendar events next to the app's own calendar;
- add, change or delete an event on a calendar the owner owns, but only after the owner previews the change and confirms it.
It never sends, drafts, deletes or changes email.
Where it runs
Everything runs on the owner's Mac and listens only on that Mac's own loopback address, so nothing is reachable from the internet.
Google sign-in uses the owner's own Google Cloud project and an OAuth client of type "Desktop app". The sign-in credentials are kept in the macOS Keychain on that Mac.
